What is Arts Psychotherapy?
Arts Psychotherapy is a branch of Psychotherapy which integrates creative and arts based processes as a part of therapeutic practice.Through the use of multiple art mediums and methods of expression, Art therapy provides a space for clients to use alternative forms of communication, inviting various resources and states of mind that these practices evoke.
Play enables clients to explore and experience new modes of expression freely and without judgment, within a safe and secure environment provided by the therapist.
Helps Grow awareness and knowledge of self through interacting, dialoguing and relating with externalisations of internal system.
Bridges alternative ways of being through the interaction of various expressive and verbal forms of communication with each other.
Not focused on the ability to be artistic or produce art.
